Ohio Memory QuiltOhio LifeKeeper Memory QuiltOn July 1, 2004, Ohio’s Suicide Prevention Team unveiled the Ohio Faces of Suicide, LifeKeeper Memory Quilt during a suicide prevention update event at the State Library of Ohio. The Ohio LifeKeeper Memory Quilt, endorsed by the Suicide Prevention Action Network, pictures the many different faces of suicide by showing faces of individuals who have died by suicide in Ohio. Each quilt square contains a picture of a loved one lost to suicide. Family & friends of these loved ones provided the pictures. The quilt was assembled by the following entities: Short Stop Youth Center of Columbus, Ohio, Columbus, Ohio Recreation and Parks, McDowell Senior Recreation Center, and Piece Corps Quilt Group of Sunbury, Ohio. The quilt illustrates that suicide knows no boundaries. It affects people from every social and economic class, religion, culture and race. Since 2004, Ohio's quilt has been displayed at suicide prevention events across the state as well as across the nation.
