Part One of Two – Grief Therapy with Suicide Loss Survivors: Theory and Techniques Presented by John R. Jordan, Ph. D.

Led by well-known grief therapist, John R. Jordan, Ph.D., this workshop will provide an overview of things that clinical caregivers (mental health professionals, clergy, grief counselors, and others) who work with suicide loss survivors should know. Dr. Jordan will describe some of the common themes in work with suicide loss survivors, as well as identify a number of psychological “tasks of integration” that can serve as a guide for the therapy. Dr. Jordan will also describe his understanding of mourning as a process of meaning reconstruction, including (1) a trauma-informed approach to processing the “event story” of the death and its implications for the survivor’s ongoing life, and (2) an attachment-informed focus on accessing the “back story” of the relationship with the deceased to address unfinished business and restore a sense of security in the continuing bond.

After you register for this on Event Brite please register on Zoom for CEU’s.
