February OSPF Monthly Coalition Partners Meeting

Please join us for our monthly coalition partnership meeting. Katie Cretella, with the Trumbull County Suicide Prevention Coalition, will present to us two initiatives that their coalition is involved with. Unmute the Uncomfortable is a community event hosted by Coleman Health Services in partnership with the Trumbull County Mental Health and Recovery Board. The Trumbull County Suicide Prevention Coalition (SPC) is a proud partner of this event. The initial event was hosted in February 2022 and focused on racial justice, mental health awareness, and suicide prevention. This year’s event will be held on May 4, 2023, focusing on racial equity, the stigma of mental health treatment among men, and addressing the increase in suicides among Black/AA men. Additionally, the second initiative that The Trumbull County SPC and Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention (ASAP) will share with us is their barbershop initiative. In this initiative, the coalitions began outreaching barbershops in June 2022, utilizing the Life is Better with You Here campaign to provide barbershops with local behavioral health resources.
