“Intersection of Brain Injury and Behavioral Health, and the resources offered to brain injury survivors and families”

Join us, as Lauren Holly, Executive Director, for the Brain Injury Association of Ohio, dives into their work and  how intersects with coalition work. Brain Injuries are a chronic medical concern that can cause overlapping symptoms with anxiety, depression, and other behavioral health concerns. A brain injury survivor is often not connected to appropriate care quickly due to the sometimes-indistinguishable similarities of these symptoms. We will talk about the importance of screening for brain injury to ensure proper treatment and supports. We will discuss the impact that a brain injury can have on someone’s risk for suicide. We will also discuss how you can connect a brain injury survivor with specific brain injury supports to ensure faster access to care and supports for their long-term journey with brain injury.
