Losing a loved one to suicide transcends words. It is life changing.

It likely is one of the most difficult losses that you will ever experience. Feelings of grief, shock, and confusion feel extremely intense. You feel completely overwhelmed and lost. You have so many unanswered questions.

You may not believe that you can survive this – but you will. You will survive this loss.

And, in time, you will begin to realize that you are not alone. There are many of us who’ve experienced what you’re going through. We are survivors of suicide loss, too.You are not alone.

There are resources that can help you. There are survivors of suicide who will journey with you. There are steps you can take that will help.

Choose Words Carefully

Sometimes, even unintentionally, words can make stigma worse and affect how we see suicide.

We can all do our part by using the correct words when talking about suicide.
