“A Strategic Approach to Choosing and Initiating Suicide Prevention Coalition Strategies”

There are a wide variety of strategies that suicide prevention coalitions can choose to implement in their efforts to create healthier residents and decrease the prevalence of suicides in their communities. To make the biggest impact, coalitions must use a strategic approach to choose and initiate strategies that make the most sense for their communities. This session will cover this strategic approach which outlines the process of establishing criteria for prioritizing suicide root causes within a community, selecting suicide prevention strategies and initiatives that are most likely to have an impact on the identified suicide root causes, and developing a comprehensive, logical, and data-driven suicide prevention plan.
